VoicePact ("we", "us", "our") provides a service that lets people record verbal agreements, structure them with AI assistance, and obtain digital confirmation from both parties. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it's protected.

1. Information We Collect

When you use VoicePact, we collect:

• Account information — name, email address, and a hashed password.
• Agreement content — audio recordings, transcripts, and AI-structured summaries of the agreements you create.
• Party details — names and email addresses of both parties to an agreement.
• Confirmation data — digital signatures, timestamps, and IP addresses recorded when each party confirms an agreement.
• Usage data — basic technical logs (e.g. login times) used for security and troubleshooting.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account.
• To record, structure, and store your verbal agreements.
• To send confirmation emails to the other party in an agreement.
• To generate the signed PDF certificate of a completed agreement.
• To send transactional emails (e.g. email verification, agreement notifications).
• To process voice recordings using a third-party AI provider (Google Gemini) for the sole purpose of extracting structured details (what, amount, deadline) from your agreement.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your agreement content for advertising purposes.

3. Audio Recordings

Audio recordings you make are stored securely on our servers and are only accessible to the parties involved in that specific agreement, and to VoicePact administrators for support and legal-compliance purposes. Recordings are retained as part of the permanent agreement record unless you request deletion.

4. Data Sharing

We share data only in the following circumstances:

• With the other party to an agreement you create (their name, email, and the agreement content).
• With our AI processing provider (Google Gemini API) to structure agreement content. Google's own privacy terms apply to this processing.
• With our email delivery provider, to send verification and notification emails.
• If required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of VoicePact, our users, or the public.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, and access-controlled servers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information to the best of our ability.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account and agreement data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the service and comply with legal obligations. Signed agreements are retained as permanent records because they may serve as evidence of a binding agreement between parties. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us, though completed agreement records involving another party may be retained as required by the legal nature of the document.

8. Children's Privacy

VoicePact is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
